Study English in the historical and picturesque Royal Borough of Greenwich in London. English language courses: the basics

  • Lesson length: 45 minutes
  • Maximum number of students per class: 15 (12 max for exam preparation courses)
  • Placement test: the first day of classes (and prior to departure)
  • Certificate of participation at the end of your stay
  • Open access to the online EC platform up to 12 weeks after your stay
  • One-to-one tutorials: free individual sessions with teachers can be booked on appointment every day from 12:30 to 15:20.
  • Regular progress evaluation
  • Teachers are qualified to teach English as a foreign language

20 lessons of general English per week (mornings or afternoons)
With this programme you can choose to have morning classes from 09:00 – 12:15, or afternoon lessons from 13:00 – 16:00. You will learn the four fundamental skills required to learn any language: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Particular attention is paid to oral communication.

Language level: Complete beginners (A0) to Advanced (C1)

30 lessons of general English per week

In addition to the standard programme, you will have 10 extra lessons focusing on oral expression. Classes take place between 09:00 – 14:30.

40 lessons of general English per week

In addition to the standard programme, you will have an additional 20 lessons on oral expression. Classes take place between 09:00 – 16:30.

Language level: Complete beginners (A0) to Advanced (C1)

30 lessons per week : 20 lessons of general English + 10 lessons of Business English

In addition to the standard programme, you will have 10 lessons per week focused on the professional world :

Develop your vocabulary and business-related terminology, preparation for real-life situations and work environments, discover new working practices, develop understanding of how incubators and start-ups achieve success + one business or industry-focused per month.

20 lessons per week: lessons of exam preparation

Language level required: B1+

The school organises sports and cultural activities during the afternoons and evenings. You are more than welcome to participate in these activities, though they are not mandatory. These activities may be free or may require a fee. The variety and availability of the activities changes depending on the time of year.

  • Museum visits (National History museum, British Museum, Royal Navy College, Cutty Stark, Royal Observatory…)
  • Tower Bridge, Aquarium…
  • Sports in St Dunstan’s College

Distance from school : families are located around 30/40 minutes from school in public transport

New residence (opened in 2019) located in the north of Greenwich.

Visa Information

Brexit :

In case of no-deal, the British government clearly stated that no visa will be required for EU citizens until the 31/12/2020 included – EU citizens will only need to show their passport or their national identity card to travel to the UK.

Exams: IELTS – every week, from 2 to 8 weeks. Exam dates can be checked on the IELTS website.
