English courses in Dublin

Dublin is a lively capital city that has managed to preserve the warm and traditionally festive atmosphere that is so characteristic of Ireland. Its relatively small size makes it an ideal destination for young people. Dublin is also a major cultural centre, with its many theatres, its literary tradition (James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, etc.) and its music. There’s no shortage of entertainment venues!

Language courses: the basics

  • Lesson length: 60 minutes
  • Class size: maximum 15 students
  • Schedule: morning or afternoon lessons
  • Course duration: 1 to 25 weeks

15 hours general English per week

This programme will enable you to improve the 4 fundamental skills of written and oral expression, listening comprehension and reading. You will also develop your ability to use practical English in everyday life.

This programme is ideal if you want to study English in a less intensive way and have more time to explore Dublin.
Courses are given either

  • in the morning from 9.00 to 12.15 Monday to Friday
    or
  • in the afternoon from 13:00 to 17:00, Monday to Thursday.

Language level: beginner to advanced (A1-C1)

20 hours of general English per week, i.e. the standard 15-hour course + 5 hours of conversation classes

During the conversation classes, led by a teacher, students take part in role-play, make presentations and discuss topical issues. This programme is ideal for making rapid progress.

Classes run from 9.00 am to 1.25 pm.

Language levels: beginner to advanced (A1-C1)

Free language clubs are organised every week, including :

  • Job Club: this workshop aims to guide students in writing a CV and finding a job in the future.
  • Culture Club: a workshop dedicated to discovering Irish culture and different countries around the world.
  • Ciné club: screening of a film or series in English

Our partner school ELI has 2 schools, one on Dame Street and the other on the Grand Canal. The majority of students attend classes at Dame Street, but depending on the length of their stay and their level, classes can be held at the Grand Canal school.

Every week, the school organises cultural activities in the afternoons and evenings, in which you are free to participate or not. These activities may be free or at cost, and their frequency varies according to the time of year.

  • Excursions: Galway, Belfast, Cliffs of Moher, Game of Thrones film locations, etc.
