The English & Music/Singing Summer Camp is open to students aged 10-17 wishing to share a life experience with other participants coming from all over the world, develop their music skills and show their creative potential while improving their English. This is done through music classes and singing workshops as well as English lessons.

All participants will have access to rehearsal rooms, a recording studio and IT suite, as well as modern classrooms, sports facilities, games areas and a theatre.

The school has 7 tennis courts available, a 9-hole golf course, a hockey field, several football fields, squash courts, sports halls and an outdoor swimming pool. Nearby facilities include a 9 and 18-hole golf course as well as a tennis centre with indoor courts and a horse riding centre.

Language Lessons (15 hours)

At the start of the programme students are tested and placed into classes according to their English skills. The language programme is divided into 5 different levels and students are given a report signed by their English teachers at the end of the stay.

You will also have a chance to practice English after school hours since sports and social activities are all organised and coached in English.

Classes have an average of 10 students and a maximum of 14 students

The minimum language level required for this course is A2 (one schoolyear of English at least).

Music/Singing Workshops

Music sessions are organised so as to help students to Develop their personal and social skills

It is advised to have some familiarity with one musical instrument or singing (at least 1 year of experience). Workshops are divided into Small groups with a maximum of 8 participants per group.

Classes are taught by experienced, professional musicians. Workshops include musical games, music composition with added lyrics, recording and improvisation. At the end of each week students perform in a concert for the whole school.

Particular attention is paid to popular contemporary music (pop music, rock, funk, soul and jazz). Classes aim at developping individual creativity and working within a group to gain experience in playing with others. Students can choose between practicing a musical instrument or singing.

It is possible to hire instruments (between £30 and £80 depending on the instrument) for the duration of the stay, but we recommended that every student brings his own instrument (whenever possible).

Minimum musical level required : elementary to advanced

Activities

Our staff conduct an evening activity programme designed to allow students of similar ages to socialise and have fun. The majority of these activities are on the school grounds and include activities such as “Crazy Olympics”, fashion evenings, “Coach Hunt”, “Race Night”, Casino nights, Karaoke, Cabaret, “Blind Date” and an “international disco” at the end of the week, .

For participants ages 15-16, the camp staff also organise several off-site activities like cinema, ice-skating and pizza parties. Students should have some pocket money for these activities (about £30 per week).

Excursions

Every weekend, participants staying for 2 weeks or more can participate in organised excursions supervised by our staff.

On Saturdays, students go to an amusement park, while Sundays are dedicated to tours of nearby English cities (Brighton, Bath, Bournemouth, Cambridge…). London is also possible on request, in particular for non-European students and at extra cost. Group leaders supervise the group and animate the outings but will not assume the functions of official guides during the visits and the London tour in particular.

Upon these trips, students should make sure to have some pocket money available for possible entry fees and other expenses (shopping, souvenirs, etc). Younger students of 9-12 years have non-stop supervision during the excursions. Students of 12-14 years can have some free time on their own but must be every hour at the meeting point designated by the group leaders to make sure they are under control. Older students of 15-16 years have 2 consecutives hours of free time.

Residence Hall

Students stay in a school residence/campus with floors split by gender. Participants are accommodated in double or shared rooms (2 or more people) according to their age and wishes. Rooms are comfortable and furnished with a bed, desk, chair, and a lockable closet per student.

Shared communal toilets and bathrooms are cleaned regularly on a daily basis.

Meals

  • Three healthy balanced meals are served daily, with a variety of menu options available including a salad bar. The camp can also cater for special diets (on request and upon booking only).
  • Barbecues are organised once a week.
  • The Camp Canteen provides students with snacks and drinks as well as other essential items.
