Language course (15 hours)
At the beginning of their stay, students take a test to determine their knowledge of English and to place them in the appropriate level. The language programme is divided into five different levels and children receive a report card signed by their English teachers at the end of their stay. The minimum level of English is A2 (a minimum of one year’s school English).
The learning of English continues outside the school, as sports and social activities are organised in English.
Classes have an average of 10 students and a maximum of 14.
Minimum language level: 1 year of school English
Music and singing workshops
The music/vocal classes are designed to help students develop their personal and social skills.
It is advisable to already have experience of playing an instrument/singing(at least 1 year of practice). Workshops are given in small groups of a maximum of 8 participants.
Lessons are given by professional, experienced musicians. The workshops include musical games, songwriting and lyrics, recording and improvisation. At the end of each week, the students perform a concert for the whole school.
The emphasis is on contemporary popular music (pop, rock, funk, soul and jazz). The courses are designed to develop both individual creativity and the ability to work with others to learn to play in a group. Young people can choose between playing a musical instrument or singing.
Instruments can be hired (between £30 and £80 depending on the instrument) but it is recommended that you bring your own instrument (wherever possible).
Minimum level: Elementary to Advanced
Evening activities at the Education Centre offer a varied range of events to suit all interests, including dance competitions, friendly Dodgeball competitions and a “Has Got Talent” talent show.
Students can also immerse themselves in cultural diversity at the International Evening, celebrating different cultures through international music, dance and cuisine. Evenings full of laughter and excitement await students, with thrilling treasure hunts to explore the camp and a vibrant social space in the Clubhouse to relax in free time.
Weekend excursions for students staying longer than a week include two full-day outings. Saturday is devoted to more recreational activities such as visits to Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Legoland, or THORPE PARK.
On Sundays, cultural excursions take students to historic British cities such as Bath, Brighton, Cambridge, Oxford, Portsmouth and Southampton, offering an opportunity to experience British culture, natural attractions and famous monuments.
