Discover Nice

Located in the extreme south-east of France, 30 kilometres from the Italian border, Nice is a colourful Mediterranean mish-mash flanked by the gorgeous Bay of Angels on one side and the rolling Ligurian Alps on the other. Nice’s 350,000 inhabitants enjoy superb culture (museums, plays, opera, libraries and concerts) as well as blue skies, sparkling sea and sun year-round. Numerous public works by celebrated artists such as Chagall, Nikki de Saint-Phalle and Matisse are dotted around the city.

The Old Nice is a labyrinthine quarter of medieval streets, delicious local delicacies for nibbling on the go (courgette fritters, pissaladière, socca) and a decidedly Italian feel. Savour the sea air and gorgeous views as you stroll along the Promenade des Anglais!

Our partner school, International House, is located in one of Nice’s tranquil residential areas. The school is housed in a fully air-conditioned, 400-square-metre building, and is only 5 minutes away from the station and 10 from the main road (avenue Jean Médecin). The seafront is just a 5-minute walk away. A park as well as plenty of cafes and restaurants are also located nearby.

During the peak season, lessons may be held in the school annex, centrally located on avenue Jean Médecin.

Accreditations : Groupement FLE, German government’s Bildungsurlaub, and recognized as a quality-assured French language school by the Swedish government (CSN).**

School facilities include:

  • 400m2 building
  • 8 bright, spacious classrooms (11 in peak season)
  • Self-study room with IT suite
  • Excellent library facilities including newspapers and magazines
  • Vending machines with drinks and snacks
