The courses take place on the site of the famous London South Bank University.
General information
- 20 lessons of 45 minutes each per week, totaling 15 hours of classes per week
- Classes take place in the morning or the afternoon.
- All course materials are included and distributed to the students on their first day of class.
- The classes are international: maximum 17 students per class.
- The courses are led by qualified and experienced teachers. On the first day, a level test is conducted to form groups suited to each participant’s level.
- The courses emphasize oral practice to develop fluency and self-confidence. Teachers ensure the participation of everyone.
- On the last day of the program, students receive a level certificate attesting to their progress.
The program includes:
- 6 half-days and 6 evenings per week
- 1 full-day excursion (for stays of a minimum of 2 weeks)
Examples of activities:
- Cultural: visits to different neighborhoods of London (Oxford Street, Covent Garden, Westminster, Notting Hill, St Paul’s…), museums (British Museum, Tate Modern, Natural History Museum…)
- Recreational: treasure hunt, theater workshop, disco, karaoke, movie, talent show…
- Sports: football, mini-Olympics, rounders, ping pong…
All activities are supervised by the school’s staff.
Optional activities and excursions may be offered on-site.
Here is an example of a 3-week program (typical schedule given as an example and subject to change):
Residence – McLaren House
he residence is located just a stone’s throw away from the main university building where the classes are held and where students have their meals.
- It consists of apartments for 5, 8, or 10 students
- Each student has an individual bedroom with an en-suite bathroom
- The rooms are equipped with a wardrobe, a desk, and a chair
- Each apartment has a common living room
- A large common room is also available on the ground floor, with space for reading, board games, a ping pong table, and foosball
Meals (full board)
The meals are served in the large campus cafeteria which is on two floors:
- Breakfast: continental with juice, coffee or tea, toast, cereals, and fruit
- Lunch and dinner: 2 dishes to choose from among 3 options, one of which is vegetarian
Practical information:
- Travel time to school: a very short walk (2 minutes)
- Bed linen provided
- Towels/hand towels not provided
- Wi-Fi access
- Laundry (paid service): washing (£2.50), drying (£1.30)
- 24/7 supervision
The cleaning of the rooms is done once a week, provided that the rooms are well-organized. The cleaning of the common areas is done daily.

Visa Information
Autorisation de sortie de territoire pour les mineurs
The authorization to leave the country is mandatory for unaccompanied minors by a person holding parental authority. It must be presented by minors at the borders along with their identification documents (passport or identity card) and a photocopy of one of their parent’s identity card.
Belgian underage travelers
When a minor child travels abroad alone or with someone other than their parents, it is necessary to obtain a “parental authorization” confirming the parents’ consent for the specific trip.
This document can be obtained from your municipality.
French underage travelers
The authorization for a minor to leave the country (AST) unaccompanied by a person holding parental authority has been reinstated since January 15, 2017. AST forms are available on the Service Public website.

The unaccompanied minor must therefore present the following three documents:
- Minor’s identification document: ID card or passport
- AST signed by one of the parents holding parental authority
- Photocopy of the identity document of the signing parent

An AVE is an Electronic Travel Authorization that allows travel to the United Kingdom and applies to travelers who do not require a visa for short stays.
An AVE costs £10 per applicant and is valid for two years, as long as the associated passport is still valid. A new passport will require a new AVE application.
AVEs can be used for multiple visits to the UK by using ePassport gates or by a Border Force officer, although they do not guarantee entry into the country.
Applicants can easily complete an AVE application on the UK ETA app or online on the government’s official website. Confirmation of the AVE is received within 3 business days.
Travelers whose application has been approved will receive confirmation via email, and the AVE will be electronically linked to the passport used for the application, which will also be required for travel.

Liées électroniquement aux passeports des demandeurs, les AVE sont obligatoires pour :
- se rendre au Royaume-Uni pour une durée maximale de 6 mois à des fins touristiques, pour rendre visite à ses proches, pour raison professionnelle ou pour les études ;
- se rendre au Royaume-Uni pour une durée maximale de 3 mois dans le cadre du visa créatif ;
- transiter par le Royaume-Uni, y compris sans passer par les contrôles frontaliers britanniques.

- Être en mesure de prouver que vous aurez suffisamment de fonds pour couvrir vos dépenses pendant votre séjour au Royaume-Uni

- Avoir le niveau d’anglais B1 minimum requis. Un test officiel sera nécessaire pour en attester
- Si vous êtes mineur : avoir le consentement de votre parent ou tuteur légal pour étudier au Royaume-Uni. Une autorisation de sortie de territoire officielle vous sera demandée.
