Spanish language studies in Benalmádena
Benalmádena is located at the foot of the Sierra de Mijas mountains, around twenty kilometres from Málaga. The climate is mild and pleasant. Benalmádena, once a fishing village, has a population of 50,000 and has managed to modernise while preserving its charm. The friendliness of the locals, the sports facilities (water sports, golf, horse-riding, etc.), the flamenco demonstrations and the natural beauty of the coastline make Benalmádena the perfect place to study and relax. Ideally located in the south of Andalusia, it is an ideal base for visiting other major cities in the surrounding area.

Colegio Maravillas is located in a residential area, ten minutes’ walk from the beach. This prestigious private school was founded in 1976. It is equipped with the most modern facilities.

Spanish courses – General
- 15 Spanish lessons per week
- Length of lesson: 60 minutes
- Maximum number of students per class: 15
- Level test: on the first day of the course
- Certificate of attendance at the end of the course
Teachers are qualified to teach their mother tongue to foreigners
Levels offered: beginner (A0) to advanced (C1)
Complete beginners (A0) are only accepted in summer.
Alongside their Spanish lessons, students take part in a full programme ofcultural, sporting and leisure activities. Every Monday morning, the student will receive a detailed programme of the week’s activities, listing the activities day by day, as well as meeting places and numbers to call in case of emergency.
The programme includes (per week) :
- 5 afternoons of sporting or cultural activities: tennis, volleyball, basketball, swimming, badminton, table tennis, visits to Malaga/Marbella/Mijas/Nerja… And dance classes every day during the summer (Sevillanas, Salsa or other Latin dances)
- 1 day excursion on Saturday to Granada, Seville, Córdoba or Ronda
- 3 evening activities (none in spring): welcome evening (all terms), sports, various games, Wii, cinema at school, Tivoli World Amusement Park and 1 disco evening per week in summer

- Water sport activities (sailing, paddle surfing, kayaking depending on the wind): 12 hours

- Double room (spring/summer) or triple room (summer) with participants of different nationalities
- Shared bathroom
- Full board: from Monday to Friday, lunch is taken in the school cafeteria (hot buffet). At weekends, all three meals are taken with the family (if students go on an excursion, they receive a picnic). In spring, all lunches are picnics.
- Journey time to school: maximum 30 minutes (on foot or by public transport)

- Summer sessions: programmes start on 9/06, 16/06, 23/06, 30/06, 7/07, 14/07, 21/07, 28/07, 4/08, 11/08, 18/08.
- High season: June and July; low season: last week of July, August
- Sailing and water sports option (Club Nautico – Benalmádena): available from 23/06 to 9/08 (compulsory 2-week session). The minimum number of participants is 3 students. If the number of participants is lower, the course will be cancelled and the course fee will be refunded.
