Barcelona Beach (ages 5–13)

The camp is located just a few minutes from the heart of Barcelona, in Castelldefels, which boasts over 5 kilometres of fine sandy beaches. It is situated by the sea, between the Mediterranean and the landscapes of the Garraf Natural Park. The site is divided into two parts:a residencewhere the students stay and a schoolwhere they attend classes. An ideal location for asafe and secure stay.

Barcelona Centro (14–18 years)

Its prime location in the heart of the city, in the famous Gracia district, just a short walk from famous streets such as Passeig de Gracia and Diagonal, allows students to explore the most attractive parts of Barcelona on foot and enjoy an unforgettable summer in the company of a large number of international students.

Spanish courses

20 Spanish lessons per week

  • Lesson duration: 45 minutes
  • Maximum number of students per class: 16 (average 8)
  • Placement test: on the first day of the course
  • Certificate of attendance at the end of the course
  • Teachers are qualified to teach their native language to non-native speakers
  • Levels offered: false beginner (A1) to advanced (C2)

Activities included: alongside language lessons, students take part in a comprehensive programmeof cultural, sporting and leisure activities. During activities, students are grouped by age: 5 to 10 years, 11 to 14 years and 15 to 18 years.

Examples of possible activities:

  • Cultural, recreational and sporting activities every afternoon: beach games, treasure hunts, a visit to the famous Park Güell, a trip to the Tibidabo amusement park or the Poble Espanyol site, etc.
  • 1 day trip every 2 weeks: Tarragona, the Roman city, Sitges, etc.
  • Evenings: disco, fancy dress party, pyjama party, beach barbecue, etc.

Below is an example of a daily schedule (provided for illustrative purposes only and subject to change):

Options at extra cost ( one option per 2-week stay, of your choice)

  • Football: 16 sessions (Barcelona Beach only)
  • Tennis: 12 sessions
  • Water sports: 12 sessions – sailing on Optimists (under 12s), windsurfing (13+), canoeing, kayaking

Notes:

  • 1 session = 45 minutes
  • In the event of bad weather preventing sailing or the practice of any other water sport, the instructors will organise activities at the sailing school or on the beach. No refunds will therefore be given due to bad weather.
  • Some optional activities may not be compatible with other activities taking place at the camp. This is because the timetables for lessons and activities may overlap.
  • Once the holiday camp has started, it will not be possible to cancel or sign up for optional activities.
  • If a sport fails to attract the minimum required number of three participants, another sport scheduled for the same dates will be offered.

  • Location: in a residential area with large green spaces and the beach. The city centre is easily accessible by public transport (metro)

Permission to go out (from 15 years old)

Young people aged15 or over who have parental permissionare allowed to go out in the evening until 10.30 pm unaccompanied by an adult, up tothree timespertwo-week session. The days on which young people are permitted to go out are set by the centre director.Young peopleunder the age of 15,orthose aged 15 and over without parental permission, are under no circumstances permitted to leave the campus. The course programme and various activities are designed to keep them fully occupied.
