Cooking

3 hours per week for 1 or 2 weeks

Good cooking is an integral part of Spanish culture and is deeply linked to its customs and traditions. The course will be taught in Spanish by a professional teacher/cook each week. It will include ingredients, tasting and discussion of dishes, for a total of 3 hours of cookery lessons per week. Classes will take place either in the school cafeteria or in the teacher’s home, depending on availability.

Examples of dishes cooked during the course: tortilla y sangría, Gazpacho y Ensalada Malagueña, Porra Antequerana y Pescaito frito, paella…

Flamenco

3 hours per week for the number of weeks of your choice

This course introduces the fundamentals of flamenco dance, a dance form that originated with the gypsies and belongs to the Andalusian culture of southern Spain. The course will be taught in Spanish by a professional flamenco dancer for 3 hours a week. It will focus on the development of flamenco technique through the integration of footwork patterns, hand and arm movements, body postures, turns, etc.

Andalusian handicraft

6 hours per week for 1 or 2 weeks

Classes are taught in Spanish by a professional craftsman for 6 hours a week. The technique used was originally introduced by the ancient Arab civilisation to the Iberian Peninsula during their long stay. The result of this technique is a durable product in relief and brilliant colours. At the end of the course, students can take away their own work.
