Discover Berlin

Berlin, also known as the European New York City, is an inevitable capital. Divided into two Germanys during the cold war, the city has unique history of the late 20th century.

Berlin has a rich history but also has a youth and cosmopolitan character. The “city that never sleeps” has always something to offer: from expositions about East Berlin to streetart to Opera « Unter den Linden », you don’t have to be bored.

Akin to a construction site since the fall of the Berlin wall, the ultra-modern architecture of Berlin’s ‘Mitte’ and Potsdamer Platz area are in stark contrast with the charming, alternative areas such as Kreuzberg or Prenzluaer Berg. With their young and hip atmosphere, they continually attract young travellers from all over the world.

Our partner school DID is situated in the center of Berlin, in a small and quiet street only 15 minutes by foot from the Brandenburg Gate, a few minutes from Alexanderplatz and close to the metro station Oranienburger Tor. Founded in 1991, the school offers high quality classes in a bright and spacious environment. There is space for 300 students.

School facilities include:

  • 15 bright and spacious classrooms
  • A multimedia center with 6 computers
  • A cybercafé with 10 computers (user fees)
  • A cafetaria with a vending machine for drinks and snacks
  • A roof terrace
  • A studyspace for group projects with a large selection of books and CD´s
