English courses in Brighton
Nicknamed “London-by-the-sea”, Brighton is the UK’s most famous seaside resort and one of England’s most cosmopolitan cities. Resolutely young and bustling, it offers all the entertainment of a modern city: trendy bars, clubs and restaurants, a variety of shows and concerts, shops and boutiques, and an excellent quality of life. That’s why so many Londoners choose to make it their home, as it’s only an hour by train from the capital.

Our partner school EC is located right in the centre of Brighton: a stone’s throw from the famous Pier, the beach, the vintage boutiques of the Lanes, as well as the many restaurants, cafés and bars for which Brighton is famous. It is only a 5-minute walk from the famous Royal Pavilion. It is a great school with a modern and elegant design.

EC methodology
The school has developed teaching methods based on the practice of English used and spoken in everyday life. The 4 skills of speaking, writing, reading and listening are covered, and particular attention is paid to conversation, grammar, vocabulary, idiomatic forms and pronunciation.
The aim is to teach you the English language of today so that you can communicate and be understood by everyone at the end of your language course. Each lesson is based on a specific theme or subject.
The teaching resources used are specially designed by EC, supplemented by other materials such as press reviews, videos or other audio documents.
The teachers provide advice and encouragement throughout the stay, while ensuring that learning goes hand in hand with good humour. It is important to establish a pleasant atmosphere and mutual trust in the classroom. As practising the language is the best way to make progress, you will be asked to do a lot during the lessons.

Autorisation de sortie de territoire pour les mineurs

Belgian underage travelers
When a minor child travels abroad alone or with someone other than their parents, it is necessary to obtain a “parental authorization” confirming the parents’ consent for the specific trip.
This document can be obtained from your municipality.
French underage travelers
The authorization for a minor to leave the country (AST) unaccompanied by a person holding parental authority has been reinstated since January 15, 2017. AST forms are available on the Service Public website.
More information: Service public.
The unaccompanied minor must therefore present the following three documents:
- Minor’s identification document: ID card or passport
- AST signed by one of the parents holding parental authority
- Photocopy of the identity document of the signing parent
Starting from late 2024

An AVE is an Electronic Travel Authorization that allows travel to the United Kingdom and applies to travelers who do not require a visa for short stays.
An AVE costs £10 per applicant and is valid for two years, as long as the associated passport is still valid. A new passport will require a new AVE application.
AVEs can be used for multiple visits to the UK by using ePassport gates or by a Border Force officer, although they do not guarantee entry into the country.
Applicants can easily complete an AVE application on the UK ETA app or online on the government’s official website. Confirmation of the AVE is received within 3 business days.
Travelers whose application has been approved will receive confirmation via email, and the AVE will be electronically linked to the passport used for the application, which will also be required for travel.
