Student visas are required in some destinations depending on the length of stay an your own nationality. These pages are here to help our students find the information necessary to obtain such visas before departure. Visas and any related fees are the sole responsibility of the student.

Stays lasting less than 90 days

Citizens of the European Union (1) can travel to Japan without a visa if their trip does not exceed 90 days. All participants need to have a passport that is valid for the duration of the stay, and they need to provide evidence of a return flight ticket.

Stays lasting more than 90 days

All stays lasting more than 90 days are considered to be long duration stays and require a visa. Visa applicants have to supply a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) (available through our partner school) to obtain this type of visa.

List of necessary documents:

  • Visa application form, which you can download on the Japanese Embassy website
  • 1 passport photograph that less than 6 months old
  • Passport (not a copy)
  • Original Certificate of Eligibility (not a copy)

For European citizens:

Until 30/09/2021 the ID card is sufficient to enter the UK. After this date, a valid passport will be compulsorily required.

Entry conditions from 01/10/2021

  • Under 6 months stay:

EU citizens can travel to the UK without a visa if their stay does not exceed 6 months. They must carry a passport valid for the duration of their stay.

  • Over 6 months stay:

All stays longer than 6 months require a visa. The obtention requirements vary depending on whether you attend a secondary school programme or a language school programme.

Visa obtention requirements (all programmes)

  • Provide a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) sent by our partner school.
  • Be able to prove that you will have sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay in the UK.

AND

For students following a high school programme :

  • Have a minimum level of B1 in English. An official test will be necessary to confirm this.
  • If you are a minor: have the consent of your parent or legal guardian to study in the UK. You will be required to obtain official permission to leave your country’s territory.
  • Approximate cost of the Study Visa (subject to change): £348

For students of age 16+ following a language school course:

  • If you are a minor: have the consent of your parent or legal guardian to study in the UK. You will be required to obtain official permission to leave your country’s territory.

Other nationalities

Please visit the official UK government website and select your nationality.

For European citizens:

  • If you are staying for less than 90 days (12 weeks) and you are taking a programme that includes at least 18 hours per week (the equivalent of roughly 20 lessons per week), a student visa is not necessary. All you need to do is fill out an online ESTA declaration (14$) at least 72 hours before your flight to enter American territory.
  • If you are staying for less than 90 days (12 weeks) and you are taking a programme of 24, 25, 28 or 30 lessons per week, a student visa (F1) is mandatory. We will provide you with the necessary documents to obtain it.
  • If you are staying for more than 90 days (12 weeks), a student visa (F1) is mandatory. We will provide you with the necessary documents to obtain this visa. – Beware, it is strongly recommended to apply for an ESTA either way, to ensure no issues are encountered on your way to the United States.

In all cases, it is essential that you find out all the information regarding the necessary documents for obtaining a Visa at your nearest American embassy.

Canadians do not require a Visa.

For European citizens and from Switzerland (1), no visa is required for stays shorter than 90 days.

It´s always obligatory to present your passport, valid till at least 6 months after return date. Sometimes you also have to show your return flight ticket.

It is compulsory to have a visa in order to enter China, no matter how long you plan to stay there.

If you are staying for less than 3 months, a (tourist) visa L is sufficient. If you are staying for longer than 3 months, you need to request the (business) visa F.

Visa Information: Russia

All visitors need a visa to enter Russia. To obtain a visa you must file a request with your local Russian embassy or consulate. You will need an enrollment letter from our partner school, which we will provide you with after your enrollment has been confirmed.

Tourist Visa

This concerns students who are not from the Schengen area that would like to study in Russia for a period of less than 4 weeks. A school enrolment letter will be sufficient to obtain a visa, and is valid for a period of 30 days. This visa cannot be extended

Student Visa

This concerns European citizens who wish to travel to Russia to study at an educational facility. A student visa can be a single-entry or multiple-entry visa for a total duration of 90 days.

Visa extensions are carried out by the Russian Federal Migration Service (UFMS), and are given in accordance with the area the programme takes place in & the foreign country of residence. These extensions can be single-entry or multiple-entry visas, and are match the time frame required to finish the programme. They cannot, however, be extended for more than a year.

To get a Russian visa, you will need to contact your local Embassy or Consulate.

Please note : during this period of COVID-19, the study permit is required by the Canadian government for any stay of any length.

Stays less than 6 months

For European citizens no visa is required for entering Canada. They must complete the AVE (comparable with the American ESTA). More information can be found on the following website.

Stays longer than 6 months

It´s necessary to apply for a study visa. The application form to apply for this visa can be found online. The application can be done after receiving a confirmation letter from our partner school

It´s only possible to receive the proof of acceptance to start the procedures.

Necessary documents:

  • A copy of the six first pages of your passport
  • 2 passport sized photos
  • The original (or a copy) letter of acceptance of your Canadian school
  • Proof of financial resources

EU citizens owning a european passport can make their visa request on-line. No fingerprinting will be required. However, fingerprinting is required for non-EU citizens, for all type of visa.

Types of visas

  • eVisitor Visa
    This visa is for people taveling to Australia for a maximum of 3 months in a row up to 12 months (each visit not exceeeding 3 months. It enables you to visit the country for touristical and professional purposes or to take courses for a duration shorter than 3 months. During your stay you are not authorised to work (except volunteering). However, you can leave and return to the country. This visa is obtainable only “on-line”and the person concerned must be physically out of Australia at the moment of that request. The validity of your visa starts when you enter Australian territory. Each request is individual and free of charge.

  • Student visa
    This visa is relevant for those wishing to take courses for a duration longer than 3 months. You are able to stay in Australia up to 10 months. The validity of your visa starts when you enter Australian territory up to 5 years. The cost of this visa request is 560$AU.

«Working Holiday Visa» programme

Since 2004, the working holiday visa has enabled French, Belgian and Canadian citizens to stay in Australia for up to 1 year, renewable one time only, in order to visit the country and work to cover their costs.

Switzerland has not signed this agreement, therefore its citizens cannot receive this visa. See the site [www.immi.gov.au]

Once on location, you can work for the same employer for a period up to 6 months. You are also able to take courses for 17 weeks during your stay. Following this, you may do an application for another visa, for example the student visa.

NB: This does not work both ways, it is impossible to have one type of visa and then change to the working holiday visa.

Departures take place all year. You may stay up to a maximum of 12 months. It is a multi-entry visa, you are able to leave and enter Australian territory throughout the period of validity.

Please note: There is no visa quota for Australia, which means that around 100,000 young people visit this country every year.

Working Holiday Visa: eligibility conditions

  • You must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the time of the application.
  • This application must be done outside of Australian territory.
  • The main reason for visiting must be tourism.
  • You cannot have already been on this programme.
  • You must have sufficient funds (5 000 $AUS) to support yourself and be able to return to your country of residence.
  • You cannot be married or be responsible for any minors.

Argentina

You do not need a Visa for stays of less than 90 days in Argentina (Eurpean Union, Switzerland, Canada).

For a longer stay you must file a request for a student Visa at your nearest Argentine embassy.
We will send you an enrollment letter from the school in order to obtain your visa.

Costa Rica

A visa is not required for stays less than 90 days in Costa Rica (European Union, Switzerland, Canada).

If you wish to stay longer than 90 days, please consult your nearest Costa Rican embassy for the necessary information.

Mexico

A visa is not required for stays less than 90 days in Mexico (European Union, Switzerland, Canada).

For a longer stay you must file a request for a student Visa at your nearest Mexican embassy.
We will send you an enrollment letter from the school in order to obtain your visa.

Peru

A visa is not required for stays less than 90 days in Peru (European Union, Switzerland, Canada).

If you wish to stay longer than 90 days, please consult your nearest Peruvian embassy for the necessary information.

It is compulsory to have a valid passport to enter Moroccan territory. Whether you need a Visa or not depends on your nationality. Embassies and consulates can guide you before and during your trip.

For all nationalities, the maximum duration of a tourist stay is 90 days. For European citizens as well as Swiss and Canadian citizens, no Visa is necessary. Nationals of other countries will have to apply.

For stays longer than 90 days, a visa will be required. Please consult the nearest Moroccan embassy or consulate.

The Moroccan Embassy in Belgium

Inhabitants of the European Union, Switzerland and Canada do not require a visa for stays shorter than 30 days, on the condition that they have a proof to leave the country (for example a flight ticket).

The entry stamp upon arrival is compulsory.

A valid passport and visa are required in order to travel to Cambodia. The required visa is an ordinary visa, which costs around 40€ (French price) and can be requested to the Cambodia Consulate in your country. It requires a passport, a copy of the passport, an ID photo and a visa application form.

Dealy of obtention : 18h in France or Belgium, 3 days in Switzerland.

This “ordinary” visa can be extended in the country without any additional formalities for a duration of your choosing, 1, 6 or 12 months, without limitation. We will provide you with useful information and documents to help with the process.
