You can take your courses from home and schedule your training time according to your availability. This can be in the evening, at the weekend or at any other time that suits you best! Online courses allow you to continue with your daytime activities (working, looking after your family, taking another face-to-face course, etc.) and to develop at your own pace.
It reduces certain constraints
- No more travelling: you save on transport costs and time. The courses take place via video conference, so all you have to do is connect to the platform to attend the lessons, without having to leave your home.
- There is a choice of start dates for your course, whereas face-to-face courses have more rigid timetables with fixed dates.
Tailor-made courses
Opting for online training allows you to progress at your own pace. You log on when you are available and watch the course videos at your own pace. You are free to pause, rewind or stop to assimilate your lessons. In addition, a tutor corrects your exercises and adapts the lessons to your level and specific needs.

English lessons take place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12.00 or 18.00 UK time, or at 13.00 or 19.00 in Belgium and France.

If you would like fully personalised tuition tailored to your goals and needs, we also offer online private tuition. Each lesson lasts 60 minutes. You can choose 1 or more lessons according to your needs, take them in addition to the group lessons or choose only private lessons if you prefer. The lessons can also be geared towards preparing for an exam, a competitive examination or a job interview– the choice is yours.
What is the minimum age for online courses?
The minimum age for taking our online courses is 16.
Is online learning as effective as school courses?
We have designed a programme based on the most effective methodology: face-to-face online lessons, collaborative work with classmates and self-study.
Online English courses have a different dynamic to regular courses, which is why we have reduced the number of students in these courses so that they have more time with their teacher. We have collaborative tasks before and after class, so students can prepare and consolidate their learning while communicating with their classmates.
Do EC’s virtual courses follow the same syllabus as the face-to-face courses at the school?
Yes, the online English courses follow the same syllabus as the face-to-face courses. This programme is complemented by our online learning platform EC Online.
When do the courses start?
Online virtual English courses start every Monday. The courses take place during the week, from Monday to Friday. Bookings and payments must be made by Wednesday in order to join the introductory course on Friday and start the course on Monday. Registrations received after the Wednesday deadline must start with the introductory course on the following Friday.
How many students are there in the online session?
The virtual session will have a maximum of 8 students and will be much more intensive than a normal face-to-face class
Will there be a placement test?
Yes, we will ask you to take your placement test via EC Online a few days before your entry date, and we will place you in the level corresponding to your results
Will I get a certificate at the end of the course?
Yes, once you have completed your online English course, you will receive an electronic certificate. A paper copy can be provided for a small fee.
I want to try out an online course before enrolling, is this possible?
Yes, trial lessons take place every Tuesday at the following times: 01:00, 09:00 and 17:00 (Central European Time). The trial lesson lasts 30 minutes and includes a presentation on what you can expect from the course.
