Spa, Belgium

With a busy professional life, what could be better than escaping for a few weeks to the heart of the Ardennes, to a green and relaxing space. The centre is in fact barely a few kilometres from Spa and its thermal springs: a rejuvenating experience which will allow you to immerse yourself in the Dutch language 100% and allow you to fully concentrate on your intensive language programme.

Learning Centre

Located only 5 kilometres from Spa and 48 kilometres from Liège, the CERAN centre is nestled in the heart of a vast lush, historic estate. All buildings are approximately 200 metres apart and each is specially dedicated to one language. The centre also includes immersion areas (for lessons and workshops), each of them containing several training rooms, a dining room to share the meals in Dutch as well as a lounge area, to make sure that practice does not stop during the breaks.

CERAN offers excellent facilities such as two multimedia language labs and an international lounge where all students can get to know each other. Sports facilities such as several grounds, tennis, squash and bocce ball courts are also available during leisure time to keep students fully fit.

If you feel the need to remain logged in, WiFi and ADSL connections as well are computers are available free of charge for the duration of your stay.

CERAN Quality

CERAN’s intensive Dutch language courses for managers and professionals focus primarily on communication and interaction. Continuing education, supervised by qualified teachers and native speakers, is the best way to make rapid progress in Dutch.

So that all language aspects are covered, CERAN offers different 45-minute modules which are included in all of the course options. These are:

  • General Dutch: you will learn to communicate in general day-to-day Dutch, and depending on your language level, Business Dutch may also feature.
  • Phonetics: you will learn to pronounce words correctly and how to express themselves using software that amplifies sounds, as well as specific techniques for speaking.
  • Multimedia sessions: an original way to focus on any gaps that you will need to work on. These sessions, supervised by a teacher, are particularly apt for work on spoken comprehension and vocabulary.
  • Personalised learning workshops: depending on your “learner profile”, your teachers will help you better understand how to make the most of your learning style.

The training is completed with practice sessions outside of lessons, when your teachers will encourage you to speak Dutch and are there to help and correct you.
