German Summer Camp Oberwesel

Along the Rhein river and around the small city of Oberwesel, you will find more fortresses from the middle ages than anywhere else in Germany. Our summer camp is situated above the picturesque Rhine village of Oberwesel, directly next to the medieval Schönburg Castle, where Germany’s most famous river winds itself through a narrow valley surrounded by mountains of slate.

German courses: the basics

You will learn in small groups with other course participants from around the world. The main goal of the course will be speaking and the confident and fluent usage of the language. Your teachers will prepare lessons that are varied and communicative so that you can make rapid progress. Instruction is oriented toward practice, so that you will always be learning the language in a creative context in an exciting atmosphere in which you can “play” with the language. The teachers incorporate short tests so you receive feedback on your language skill development.

  • Ages 8 – 14
  • Lesson length: 45 minutes
  • Class size: Average 10 – 12 students (maximum 15)
  • Schedule: morning and/or afternoon lessons
  • Course length: 1 – 5 weeks
  • Placement test: first day of lessons
  • Certificate of completion at the end of your stay

20 General German lessons per week

Schedule: 9:00 – 12:30 – Monday to Friday

Language level: beginner-upper intermediate (A0-B2). Complete beginners must start 29/06/2025

24 General German lessons per week

Includes the above General German classes, plus an extra four lessons per week, usually held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 13:00 – 14:30

Language level: beginner-upper intermediate (A1-B2)

You will enjoy a varied calendar of sport, social and leisure activities every week, in the afternoon and during the evening. On Saturday, you will travel to another large city and spend the whole day. The school will provide a detailed activity schedule on arrival.

Summer Camp Residence

You live in the residence in which instruction takes place. All rooms are functionally furnished and have their own private bath. Meals are eaten in the cafeteria.

  • No laundry facilities available. Please bring enough clothing

Travel

Arrivals: Sunday (16:00 to 20:00)

Departures: Saturday (8:00 to 12:00)
