Het avontuur van Donatella in Ierland
Dit jaar besloot Donatella haar droom waar te maken en haar studies in het buitenland af te werken! Zij begon haar schooljaar in Ierland, in Mullingar, waar zij de komende 3 jaar zal doorbrengen.
Mullingar en de County van Westmeath
Mullingar, gelegen in het hart van Ierland, is een kleine stad in het graafschap Westmeath. Mullingar is genoemd naar de molen die tegen de klok in draait (Iers: An Muileann gCearr). Mullingar heeft ook een aantal meren – Lough Owel, Lough Derravaragh en Lough Ennell – die door sportvissers worden bezocht en het Royal Canal dat door de stad loopt.

Hello everybody !
I arrived in Ireland nearly 3 months ago now, and I am so happy, I have a very good family, like I feel like I am a part of the family, I feel at home with my host family.
I met a lot of people too during that three last months, and I am happy to have them in my life, they are so nice, they welcomed us like we knew them for years, I met two Spanish girls too, and we are all friends. We are a very nice group of friends, Irish, French and Spanish 😅.
For my birthday they did a card everybody signed, and they offered me chocolate. That was just a nice gesture that touched me so much, my host family also prepared a special surprise for me, I feel that I am where I meant to be and that is such a good feeling.
At school, it is so good too, I am in TY (Transition Year) which means that we are discovering things and not working a lot, we did some trips and the teachers are so nice, they are there to help us and very« friendly» if that’s the right word. And when I had a small problem or something I was sure that my friends and my family could help, which is a very nice feeling.
I am also doing a lot of activities outside, with my friends or my family. And this week I have a work experience, I am working in a florist shop, that is such so interesting ! During the holidays I went to Cork!
