Explore Portugal’s hilly capital city of Lisbon, the largest and most vibrant city in the country. Located on top of 7 hills, it’s not difficult to catch a glimpse of some breathatking views (especially at sunset!). São Jorge Castle lies at the very top, and looks out over the city’s pastel houses and famous Lisbon trams. It’s a beautiful and culturally rich city that has wonderful weather all year round!

Due to its standing in Finance, Commerce, Media, Entertainment, Arts, International Trade, Education and Tourism, Lisbon is also an Alpha World City. It’s a hub of business and culture! Take a stroll round Rua Augusta to satisfy your shopping cravings, or visit the Lisbon zoo (which is one of the oldest zoos in the world!).

Relax on the beautiful beaches or lazily sip Sangria in one of the many Portuguese cafes – then head on over to the Zona Oriental for some entertainment frequented by the Lisbon locals. The world-famous ‘Pastéis de Belém’ were created right here in Lisbon, meaning you can journey back to where the little handmade pastries came from and enjoy a sweet vanilla tart in a stunning, traditional bakery.

Our partner school is located in Alfornelos, just on the outskirts of Lisbon near Pontinha & Benfica, and the university district. With 20 years of experience, the school has a solid and reliable teaching method. The methodology is based on the [Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) (http://www.coe.int/t/dg4/linguistic/cadre_en.asp). Our partner also offers numerous other language courses, making the atmosphere very international.

The dedicated staff provide 24-hour support to their students, helping them learn the language and discover Portugal at the same time. The school is in an excellent location and very easily accessible by public transport – making it easy to hop on one of the Lisbon trams and wander around the city during your free time.

Students have to be at least 18 years old. Complete beginners are also accepted. Courses are structured round 6 different levels of Portuguese, and each level can be completed in 4 weeks thanks to the interactive and personalised teaching methods the school uses.
