Australian Host Families

Australian families are generally warm, open and outgoing. They like to share their culture and way of life with young people from other backgrounds.

They are rigorously selected by the local correspondent who visits them at home and conducts a personal interview to ensure that they have the capacity and economic resources to properly host a teenage exchange student. There is no typical family, each one is unique and reflects the Australian way of life and society. Australians are known for their relaxed lifestyle, friendliness and love of the outdoors. The host family will provide accommodation and 3 meals a day. If the student decides to have lunch at the school canteen, the student must pay for their own lunch.

Students are accommodated on full board. The family provides a packed lunch on school days.

The local correspondent is an experienced person who knows the host families and remains in regular contact with the students. Since he/she is able to act quickly in case of problem, he/she remains your privileged contact on the spot.

He/she will be there to answer any questions that may arise once you are there and assist you in all your steps. There is regular communication with your parents, host family and the school to ensure that your experience goes smoothly.

Finally, an emergency number will be forwarded to you so you can contact someone on site in case of a problem.
